Preserving your chapter history and identity is of value to your chapter as well as to the Fraternity.

A history should:

Identify your chapter, city/town, and state. Review the founding of your group, changes over the years, and current status. Let us know about those Thetas who have contributed to your group, community, etc. Detail any interaction with other alumnae groups and with college groups. Include any information that is unique to your chapter.

How should I write the report?

The history should not cause you problems. The history need not be long or subjective. It should be concise and objective. The following examples will show you that your report does not have to be long or involved:

Check with alumnae in your area who have been around and would remember the beginnings of your chapter. One Theta wrote that there was little information on her chapter's beginning. Had she checked with headquarters or, better yet, checked with some alumnae who are still in her area (who were instrumental in seeing that the group became an alumnae chapter), she would have had a report to submit.

When is the report due?
