Alumnae and Collegians

Nov. 2010

Beta Omega's (Colorado College) Alumnae Appreciation Dinner

Three DAC members attended a Thanksgiving dinner cooked by the collegians.  We had a great time talking with the young women and touring the house.

Fraternal Caucus

On behalf of the 69 member fraternities of the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), and the 26 sororities of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), let us welcome you to the Capital Fraternal Caucus. Now more than ever we need your help to ensure policymakers in Washington enact laws that allow us to sustain and grow Greek life.

Learn how you can help Theta collegians by supporting legislation which impacts Greek life at www.fraternalcaucus.org.
Legislation in the 111th Congress (2009-2010)

The Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act of 2009 (H.R. 1547/S. 781) (CHIA) would allow tax deductible contributions to not-for-profit student housing entities such as fraternity and sorority foundations to be used for the same purposes that a college or university could use such contributions.

The College Fire Prevention Act (H.R. 642/S. 1791) authorizes a program of federal matching grants to install life-saving fire suppression technology in existing student housing, including fraternity and sorority houses. These grants are important for fraternities and sororities because current IRS interpretations of U.S. tax law effectively prevent them from financing housing improvements through private fundraising.
