Along with the Northern Virginia Alumnae Chapter, we rotate hosting duties for the annual Founders Day Celebration luncheon, typically held in March.
Founders Day 2012
On March 10, the Northern Virginia Alumnae Chapter will host the annual Founders Day luncheon for our Theta sisters across the greater DC region. Please plan to join us at Jaleo Crystal City as we recognize the outstanding achievements of the NOVA and DC/MD alumnae chapters, honor our milestone Thetas, and celebrate 142 years of sisterhood.
Our guest speaker is the Honorable Barbara Franklin (Beta Phi/Penn State). Secretary Franklin is President and CEO of Barbara Franklin Enterprises, a private international consulting firm headquartered in Wsahington, D.C. Franklin served as the 29th U.S. Secretary of Commerce under President George H.W. Bush. As Secretary, her historic mission to China re-opened commercial relations with that country. Ms. Franklin has served five U.S. presidents. Secretary Franklin's trailblazing career includes corporate, governmental, academic and entrepreneurial work, and she was one of the first women to graduate from Harvard Business School.
