KAO Westchester Celebrates 6th Annual Founders Day with Quinnipiac and Metro New York Thetas
Over 40 Thetas from Westchester County, Quinnipiac University, New York City, Connecticut and New Jersey were on hand to celebrate Founders Day on Saturday, January 28th 2012. KAO Westchester's 6th annual Founders Day Celebration was held at The Apawamis Club in Rye, NY, from 11:30 to 2:00, featuring guest speaker and Theta Foundation Trustee Dinah McClymonds, along with a lineup of ritual activities, and our own spin on Theta Countdown. Thetas rose from the chairs to "Countdown" how many KAO Westchester Founders Day Celebrations they have attended. It was quite special to see that among a handful of Westchester Thetas still standing at the end of the Countdown, so were two Quinnipiac alumnae, Tristen Sechi and Lea Aglione, who attended their first Founders Day with Westchester as collegians.
A moment of silence with a special candle lighting was also observed for KAO Westchester member Wilma Siversten Rogalin, Upsilon '34, who passed away last spring at the young age of 97. Wilma always attended Founders Day, and the chapter shared pictures and memories of Wilma celebrating her 75th Theta anniversary a few years ago. KAO Westchester collected money for the Friendship Fund as well as over $1,000 for Theta Foundation in Wilma's memory.
