Scholarship

Kappa Alpha Theta Policy on Academic Achievement

Kappa Alpha Theta expects each member to achieve high scholarship and to develop to the fullest her intellectual, cultural, and social potential. Each chapter is required to set a definite scholarship average which members must maintain in order to retain the social privileges of active membership.

In addition, each chapter is expected to maintain an average above the All-Sorority Average (ASA) on its campus, and chapter bylaws shall establish specific grade requirements for officers.

Scholarship is another area in which Thetas give their all and excel. Theta expects each member to achieve high scholarship and to develop to the fullest intellectual, cultural, and social potential.

Each semester, our sisters take advantage of many academic opportunities such as research, study abroad, and tutoring.

The Thetas at Eastern Kentucky University have one of the highest GPA’s on campus and are above the all sorority average! Also, Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation awards scholarships every year to both undergraduate and graduate members, in addition to giving leadership grants. In 2010 alone, The Foundation awarded 249 scholarships totaling $615,425.00. Kappa Alpha Theta gives more scholarships out to its members annually then any other Greek-lettered organization.

This past February, at the award ceremony during Greek Weekend, Delta Upsilon received the Outstanding Adviser Award, All Sports Award, Best Active GPA; we also placed third in Greek Games, and our very own Kayla Barrick was announced Greek Woman of the Year (2011). In June 2010, the Delta Upsilon Chapter received the Bronze Kite Chapter Award at Grand Convention.
