Risk Management Resources
Manuals
As a member of FIPG Inc., Kappa Alpha Theta subscribes to the policies of FIPG, Inc. In addition, college chapters are expected to uphold the specific risk management policies of Kappa Alpha Theta as outlined in the Risk Management Handbook. An additional document, the Crisis Management Guide, provides direction to collegians, alumnae, and volunteers as to procedures they should follow if in a crisis situation. Click the links on the right-hand side to view copies of both documents.
AlcoholEdu
In 2002, Kappa Alpha Theta launched AlcoholEdu, a program developed by Outside the Classroom. AlcoholEdu is the nation’s first online interactive alcohol prevention program, and provides up-to-date social and biomedical facts to help collegians make well-informed decisions about alcohol use and also to cope with the drinking behavior of peers and friends. Kappa Alpha Theta was the first women’s fraternity to endorse the program and require that all members complete the AlcoholEdu online educational program, and was able to do so through a grant from the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.

FIPG
It is the responsibility of college chapters to be knowledgeable about Theta’s risk management expectations and proactive in adhering to Fraternity, FIPG, and campus policies, as well as federal, state, and local laws. FIPG policies can be found in the FIPG Manual which can be downloaded from the FIPG website. Refer to the FIPG Table of Contents in Appendix A of the Risk Management Handbook for more information on what is included in the FIPG Manual.
