Gamma Nu travelers in front of Bettie Locke's portrait at Fraternity headquarters.
Snacks for the drive? Check. Road trip playlist? Check. Cameras? Check! It doesn't take much more than a few essentials, friends, and an idea to take an average three-day weekend and make it an adventure! That's what four Gamma Nu/North Dakota State sisters did, as they made the 13-hour drive from Fargo, N.D., to Indianapolis. Their destination was simple: follow the kites from faraway Fargo to Bloomington's Beta.

I had the pleasure of meeting these inspiring travelers at their first stop, Fraternity headquarters. With the help of Theta Foundation staffer Nicole Fritz, we let the women in on a glimpse of life at Theta HQ. From the portrait of Bettie Locke watching over the Theta boardroom to the Fraternity archives overflowing with Theta history, it was a joy to share our workplace with sisters. Seeing Fraternity headquarters through the eyes of these enthusiastic travelers, my affection for the place I come to work overflowed.

Headquarters was just the first stop in a weekend full of Theta exploration. After Indianapolis, the ladies ventured on to Alpha Chapter at DePauw. They visited the university's chapel, and later paid their respects at Bettie's nearby grave. Following Alpha, they met the sisters of Beta/Indiana, Tau/Northwestern, and Psi/Wisconsin.

With busy college schedules, what motivated these four women to pack their bags and journey down the Theta road? Love for adventure, love for one another and love for Theta. I consider myself lucky to have experienced a small piece of their sisterhood. And, if you're feeling inspired, grab your suitcase! We'd love to open Theta's doors and share Fraternity headquarters with you.
