After serving as interim dean for three months, Leslie has been named dean of University Libraries at the University of Colorado Boulder. University Libraries includes the main library (Norlin) along with four branch libraries throughout campus. The CU Boulder library system houses the largest library collection in the Rocky Mountain region, and has served as a regional depository for federal government publications since 1877. As dean, Leslie supervises 215 faculty and staff and oversees 10 million items such as books, periodicals, and maps.

Leslie first joined the university as an associate dean from Texas A&M University, and was soon promoted to senior associate dean. She holds a master of library and information science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication from Drake University.
