Epsilon Xi Chapter is established at Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania.

Adelaide MacDonald Sinclair, Military Commander and UNICEF Director
Adelaide MacDonald Sinclair, Sigma/Toronto, dies.

Sinclair is remembered as the Director of the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service during WWII, and as Canada’s first representative on the executive board of UNICEF and as UNICEF's Deputy Executive Director 1957-‘67. Thetas also remember Sinclair as our Grand President 1938-1942.

Kerri Strug, Gymnastics Champion and Spirit Award Winner
Kerri Strug, Beta Xi/UCLA, born.

Strug becomes a two-time Olympic medalist and three-time World Championship medalist. In Atlanta, her team wins the Gold, a first for the U.S. women’s gymnastics team, when Strug lands a vault on an injured ankle (1996).
