A chapter at Cincinnati Wesleyan was established by founder Hannah Fitch Shaw in 1870 because of friends at that institution (two later became her sisters-in-law). It survived for only a year.

In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields. We take this opportunity to recognize some of our more notable sisters.
