Welcome to Kappa Alpha Theta!
The national chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta was founded in 1870 at Indiana Asbury College (now DePauw University). Theta has been on the Drake campus since 1921. For more than 90 years, Drake Thetas have established themselves as intelligent, confident, and inspiring women. We pride ourselves on our academic excellence, philanthropic events, campus involvement, and sisterhood activities.
Being a member of Kappa Alpha Theta is an important part of our lives, a part of our lives that will last for a lifetime. Theta is more than an organization; it means dozens of friendships lasting beyond the college years and hundreds of opportunities for members to benefit themselves, their college chapter, and their community. Being a part of this organization has opened many doors for me and the other women of this chapter. We set high standards for ourselves by leading well-balanced lives and following the morals and ideals of our founders. We focus on striving to maintain superior academic success, participating in campus and community service activities, creating memorable sisterhood events, and planning socials with other Greek organizations. As President of Beta Kappa Chapter, I can say that I am truly honored to call the women of Kappa Alpha Theta my dearest sisters and friends.
Loyally,
Katelyn Harman
