My special card from a member of the Epsilon Zeta chapter at the University of Mississippi
Starbuck's holiday cups are out, airports all over the country are playing Christmas music, and the bell ringers are starting to appear on every corner. This can only mean one thing...Christmas season has arrived! Everyone has their favorite part of the holidays. One of my favorite things to experience at Christmas is to watch people's faces as they open a present. There is something about making someone happy by simply giving a gift, big or small.

Being on the road this year, I have not had a lot of extra time to shop around for my Christmas gifts yet. I have joked with my family that all of their gifts are coming from the Sky Mall magazine. That is the magazine in the backseat pocket of every airplane. I am starting to get worried that I will not have enough time to pick out the "perfect" gifts. I fear that the facial expressions when opening presents will not be satisfactory this year.

I was reminded by a member of Epsilon Zeta chapter last week that it is not about the gift, but about how receiving that gift makes someone feel. By giving me a special Christmas card with a personal meaningful message on the inside, she gave me the best gift of all... love. She took the time to write something that made me feel so special and put a huge smile on my face. As I begin to shop for Christmas gifts this year, I hope to make my gifts have the same effect to my recipients as this small present did.

As this gift giving season begins, have you found that perfect gift for someone that will light up their face?
