Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation was recognized by the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence (FFE) for outstanding operations strategy surrounding the Theta for Good program. On Tuesday, August 26, Kappa Alpha Theta received the 2025 Award of Distinction for Best Operations Improvement Effort. Theta was selected out of both our fraternity and sorority peers, receiving one of only nine awards given by the FFE annually. Kappa Alpha Theta also received honorable mention for Best New Development Idea, also recognizing the Theta for Good program. The award was accepted by Director of Advancement, Justine Thomas, and Assistant Director of Advancement, Rachel Soll, on behalf of Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.
The unprecedented success of Theta for Good was the direct result of a well-developed, cohesive, operations improvement strategy. It connected meaningful gift opportunities with collegiate chapters who felt the most inspired to support non-profits of their choice, thus empowering chapters to make an impact in their communities. In just three academic years, 97.8% of all Theta college chapters have participated in the Theta for Good program. This past year between June ‘24 and ‘25, they have raised an astounding $1,325,068, with $967,016 being granted to more than 100 different, verified 501(c)(3) organizations and $358,051 designated for Theta Foundation!
Theta for Good has enabled staff to better measure our collegiate giving and streamlined the operational and giving processes. In just the last year, Theta’s college chapters have raised $284,424 more than the year before, surpassing $1 million for the second year in a row! From 2022-2023, the first official year of the program, to 2023-2024, college chapter fundraising increased by more than 109%. Also, from 2021-2022 (before the Theta for Good program was launched) to 2022-2023, fundraising among college chapters increased by 192%.
Best of all, Theta for Good has become a point of pride for Kappa Alpha Theta, college chapters, and Foundation donors alike. Individual donors are enthused by the commitment of our college chapters and inspired generosity has followed as a result! The momentum of Theta for Good has culminated in a spectacular banner 2025 year for Theta Foundation featuring these outstanding accolades: $1,000,000+ awarded in scholarships for the first time in Theta history, $1,000,000+ total dollars granted to organizations that support child health and welfare for the first time since its launch, AND $1,000,000+ unrestricted dollars raised through the Theta Forever Fund (a feat only accomplished SIX times since Theta Foundation’s founding in 1960).
