For Us, Theta Is Forever

In 1987, at the 50th anniversary of the birth of Gamma Delta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Georgia, many alumnae attended, and eight of us reconnected. We had been busy with family life and careers, and decided it would be fun to get together and go to the beach.

The beach trip turned into an annual event, and we added trips to lake houses, trips abroad, concerts, movies, and lunch gatherings, just because. We cry together at our parents’ funerals, celebrate at our children’s weddings, and joyfully dispense monogrammed sterling silver cups when our grandchildren are born. We are devoted to one another through thick and thin, and always will be.

We are thrilled that Esther is doing well, and marvel at her courage and grace. She was president of our chapter in 1968-69. For us, Theta is forever.
