March 2017 Archives News

March is Women's History Month, and Theta's heritage site is celebrating! I have added a couple of new notables to the Notable Thetas page. Check out Chieriko Ukogu, Phi deuteron/Stanford, and Windsor Hanger Western, Zeta Xi/~. I've also done a bit of spring cleaning and reorganizing on the search categories. Search by a specific category such as Media or First in Field and see who pops up. Or search by chapter and by decade of initiation; you might enjoy seeing who is on the list from your initiation decade.

I’ve written a couple of new blog posts as well. As part of the ongoing coverage of our special exhibit on Bettie Locke and her family, I will post individual biographies of Bettie’s daughters, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter over the next few months. First up is Edna Hamilton, Bettie’s oldest daughter. Also, there is post in honor of Women's History Month and this year’s theme of women in labor and business. I have identified several Thetas from the business world, both past and present.

In addition to publishing “Ask the Archivist” in each issue of the Theta magazine, we share the current and past columns on this site. Click on the icon and you can read the article.

As always, let me know if you have any suggestions for content on the heritage site or blog topics. Happy March!
