Last month, Gayle was recognized as a “Woman of Impact” by the Women’s History Coalition of Miami-Dade County, Inc. Through a nomination process, Gayle was one of six women recognized at a ceremony and awarded the prestigious Julia Award named in honor of the “founding mother of Miami” Julia Tuttle. The Coalition was founded in 1983 by a group of women in Miami-Dade County, Fla. to coordinate and promote Women's History Month, celebrated nationally each March.
Gayle is a founding partner of Global Risk Insurance Solutions, and holds several professional designations, including Charter Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS).

While serving as the chair of the FIU Alumni Association and chair of the Women’s Studies Board, she was a mentor to many young women. In 2013, Gayle became involved in Geeki Girls, which works to inspire young girls to study science, technology, engineering and math.
