My journey to becoming a CASA started by joining Zeta Upsilon Chapter at the University of Texas at Dallas. As the philanthropy director for my chapter, I was passionate about community service and the mission of CASA. Our chapter continued to grow as did our involvement with CASA. We volunteered by making Christmas baskets and working their annual CASAblanca Gala and CASA Kids Golf Classic.
Through this, my fondness and love for CASA grew stronger and I knew that I wanted to become a CASA when I turned the required age of 21.
I currently serve as a CASA, specializing in drug court. This means that I am assigned a child whose parent(s) is/are currently receiving treatment in rehab.
CASA has changed and impacted my life in so many ways. I am so thankful to Theta for opening doors to make a positive impact on the childcare system.
