Freedom of Association
On your August to-do list, please add "Contact my United States Congressional Representative." The August work period, also known as recess, is a time when many congressional representatives meet with and consider issues important to their constituents. The Collegiate Freedom of Association Act/ H.R. 3128 is intended to legislatively address the sanctions (such as those imposed by Harvard) on members of single-sex organizations, including Kappa Alpha Theta and our NPC sister groups. This bill is bipartisan and has 23 cosponsors. Scheduled public meetings and office hours are accessible on each representative's website; www.congress.gov is a good resource. If you need talking points, please contact Laurie Connor.
