Michigan Associate Director FSL and Panhellenic Advisor Shannon Benson said, “147 years ago, Kappa Alpha Theta established its Eta Chapter as the first sorority at the University of Michigan, just nine years after the University began admitting women. Generations of members have thrived at Michigan because of the home they found in Theta. Having Theta return to campus is significant and exciting to our community. … Today, our Panhellenic community is the largest it has ever been and with women continuing to seek out this special experience at Michigan, it makes sense that Theta, who started it all, is back on campus offering a special place for new generations to become the best versions of themselves. Michigan Panhellenic and fraternity and sorority life are stronger today with Theta active and thriving.”
