The American Academy of Nursing recently inducted Tammy as a fellow, the nursing profession’s highest honor. As one of 2,400 fellows, she is considered a leader in nursing education, management, practice, and research.

Tammy serves the University of Kansas Hospital as its executive vice president, chief operating officer, and chief nursing officer. She earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from the University of Kansas School of Nursing, along with a certification in advanced nursing administration.

In 2006, Tammy received the Distinguished Nursing Alumna award from the University of Kansas Nurses Alumni Association. In 2007, she was named Nurse of the Year for Administration by the Kansas State Nurses Association. She has served various nursing organizations throughout her career, including the Community Blood Center board of directors, and is a member of the Kansas Hospital Association’s Council on Health Delivery and the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative.
