This is the time of year when Fraternity Housing Corporation (FHC) staff and volunteers are gearing up to welcome members back to our facilities! The summer is a great time for us to get facility-related projects completed and prepare each house for opening.
We are moving in just over 1,500 Thetas to our facilities across the country. In preparation for opening, facility directors work with a variety of vendors to complete things like fire safety inspections, regular preventative maintenance, and facility deep cleaning. Facility directors also work with the facility staff, like housekeepers, dishwashers, and meal service providers, to make sure they are ready to come back to the house upon opening. When move-in day (or weekend) arrives, facility directors work closely with chapter leadership to check all members in.
When a member arrives at the house, she will likely be greeted by her facility director or a chapter leader. She will be told where to find her room, if she doesn’t already know, and she will be provided a key or fob (if applicable) and check-in form. Then, she can get all moved in and situated in her room at her leisure.
Shortly after opening, chapter leadership and the facility director will host a live-in meeting where they review facility expectations and other chapter business items.
We are thrilled to welcome our members back to their Theta homes!
