Zeta Xi Chapter Returns to Harvard College

We are thrilled to announce that Grand Council unanimously approved the return of Kappa Alpha Theta to Harvard in Spring 2022. Three years ago, Grand Council accepted the Zeta Xi Chapter charter relinquished by the unanimous vote of the chapter members due to Harvard sanctions being imposed on individual members. In the years since then, Kappa Alpha Theta fought for Harvard’s college women to retain their rights to the full college experience, including leadership opportunities outside of Theta, despite opposition from Harvard’s administrators. And, we celebrated when that battle was won last fall after the successful conclusion of a pair of lawsuits against Harvard. Harvard has since dropped their sanctions against members of single-gendered organizations. Throughout all these events, it was always our hope to re-establish Zeta Xi Chapter when members would be safe from potential sanctions.

We will return alongside Panhellenic peers, joining Alpha Phi to re-form the local Panhellenic. Members of Zeta Xi Chapter have been leaders as both undergraduates and alumnae, and we look forward to continuing Theta’s strong legacy in Cambridge.
